Brown vs. Biden

The recent jousting of Vice President Joe Biden and his predecessor, Dick Cheney, dominated the talk of Monday morning political quarterbacks. But Cheney was not Biden's only target.

"I don't know whether the new senator from Massachusetts understands when you get tried in a military tribunal, you get a lawyer too. So it's good if we begin to learn the facts about all these things," Biden said on CBS's "Face the Nation"Sunday, referring to the ongoing debate over whether to try terror suspects in criminal or military courts. Scott Brown has criticized spending money for a suspect's lawyer in criminal court.

Scott Brown is a practicing attorney, and a 29 -year member of the Massachusetts National Guard, where he currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Brown was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in homeland security after the attacks of September 11, 2001.
