It's What's For Lunch
With all that ails the nation, Meet the Press host David Gregory actually began his interview with Newt Gingrich by asking him about contraceptives and Rush Limbaugh.
Showing obvious disgust for the topic, the Republican presidential candidate marvelously responded, "You know, David, I am astonished at the desperation of the elite media to avoid rising gas prices, to avoid the President's apology to religious fanatics in Afghanistan, to avoid a trillion dollar deficit, to avoid the longest period of unemployment since the Great Depression, and to suddenly decide that Rush Limbaugh is the great national crisis of this week"

Take A Stand

Lamestream Media.....ZERO

The Obama administration is waging war on Christianity. Somehow, the networks haven’t seen this as newsworthy.More...
On January 20, Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services announced its perverse attempt to force Catholic schools, hospitals, and other charitable agencies to finance sterilization, abortifacients and contraceptives in their insurance plans starting in 2013. Speaking for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Archbishop Timothy Dolan roared like a lion in a press statement: “In effect, the president is saying we have a year to figure out how to violate our consciences.” He asserted "To force American citizens to choose between violating their consciences and forgoing their healthcare is literally unconscionable."

Media Bias vs. Pro-Life vs. Planned Parenthood

In the most recent Gallup poll on abortion, as many Americans described themselves as pro-life as called themselves pro-choice. A combined 58 percent of Americans stated that abortion should either be “illegal in all circumstances” or “legal in only a few circumstances.” These results do not vary appreciably by gender: in the first Gallup poll to show a slight pro-life majority, conducted in May 2009, half of American women described themselves as pro-life.More...
....From the nightly news shows to print and online media, the coverage’s tone alternated between wonder and outrage — wonder that anyone could possibly find Planned Parenthood even remotely controversial and outrage that the Komen foundation had “politicized” the cause of women’s health.
“That ubiquitous pink ribbon ... is sporting a black eye today,” Claire Shipman announced on ABC News Thursday, while Diane Sawyer nodded along. On MSNBC, Andrea Mitchell dressed down the Komen foundation’s founder, Nancy Brinker: “I have to tell you,” Mitchell said, “this is shocking to a lot of your longtime supporters. ... How could this have taken place?” In story after story, journalists explicitly passed judgment on Komen for creating a controversy where none need ever have existed.
Conservative complaints about media bias are sometimes overdrawn. But on the abortion issue, the press’s prejudices are often absolute, its biases blatant and its blinders impenetrable. In many newsrooms and television studios across the country, Planned Parenthood is regarded as the equivalent of, well, the Komen foundation: an apolitical, high-minded and humanitarian institution whose work no rational person — and certainly no self-respecting woman — could possibly question or oppose.
But of course millions of Americans — including, yes, millions of American women — do oppose Planned Parenthood. They oppose the 300,000-plus abortions it performs every year (making it the largest abortion provider in the country), and they oppose its tireless opposition to even modest limits on abortion.
....By way of comparison, the organization also refers pregnant women for adoption. In 2010, this happened 841 times, against 329,445 abortions....

Things You Won't See On Your Local-Yokel News Station

Via Andrew Breitbart
I am pleased to announce the winner of the First Annual Breitbart “Ambiguous Entity of the Year” award.H/T to SondraK
Our choice was inspired by the most under-reported story of the year: the dark side of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which the media attempted to hide.
From its origins, the Occupy movement has been riddled by rapes, sexual assaults, and countless other serious crimes–many of which were not reported to police because Occupy organizers understood that public police reports and media dispatches about crimes would hurt the movement’s image.
And, as one Occupier noted, “This is a battle over images, not just over the park.”
Had the Tea Party been ravaged by rapes, rampant drug use, vandalism, or assaults, those crimes would not only have been over-reported, they would have stopped the Tea Party in its tracks.
The mainstream media did its best to invent Tea Party misdeeds–imaginary “N-words” and all–where none existed. Prominent celebrities, athletes—even conservative ones, who support the Tea Party’s aims—have kept a low profile in the Tea Party for fear of being judged by the mainstream media’s double standard.
Yet the media-savvy, media-embraced Occupy movement used shout-outs from President Obama, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, rap impresario Russell Simmons, Alec Baldwin, Kanye West, Susan Sarandon, Roseanne Barr, Sean Lennon, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Tim Robbins, and Anne Hathaway to hide what was really going on at the makeshift encampments.

The Rock vs. Obama With The New Black Panthers
Mark Levin referenced Andrew Breitbart's report at Big Government detailing how then-candidate Barack Obama shared a podium and marched with Malik Zulu Shabazz, leader of the New Black Panthers.
Photographic proof that candidate Barack Obama appeared and marched with the radical 'New Black Panther Party' in 2007.

It amazes me how anyone can excuse this man's absence of conscience and moral intregity.

Cosmic Prunes
Every day people in Washington D.C. to find out their thoughts on Solyndra. For the most part, no one had ever even heard the word before.
So here's a little edumacation on Solyndra, in a nutshell:
. The administration fast-tracked a $535 million loan to Solyndra (that's $535 million taxpayer money).
. Major Solyndra investors were often also major Obama donors.
. Solyndra declared bankruptcy, despite apparently making it appear to the administration as recently as July that the company’s finances were fine.

Christiane Amanpour's Joy
(Moonbattery)Last year the New York Slimes did a puff piece on left-wing propagandist Christiane Amanpour (formerly of CNN, now ABC), which included photos of her home. Recognize the oversized picture that dominates her favorite room? She says it’s her favorite item in the apartment, because “It gives me joy every time I walk in my door.”

Here’s a clue: like Amanpour, the painting comes from Iran. Here’s another clue:

Tea-rrorists.....Rly?
Fox News put together a panel of small business owners who also affiliate themselves with the Tea Party, one of which is a Cuban man who immigrated to this country 50 years ago to get away from socialism. While all of them took offense at being labeled as terrorists, the man from Cuba says he’s seen this playbook before and he never thought he would see freedom in jeopardy here in America.

"Impeachable Act"
Via Mark Levin:
I hate to sound like a Debbie Downer, but it's a damn shame the media's got Barry's back. And with that, this could never happen.

Should he attempt to seize explicit Congressional power, we’ve got to make a case that we don’t like dictators in this country and that we will not accept dictators in this country. There’s not even a colorable argument that can be made that justifies the President of the United States seizing for himself the authority to “borrow money on the credit of the United States.” And should Chuck Schumer continue to urge this and should the President do it, then Chuck Schumer should be expelled from the United States Senate when the Republicans take it back over as they will.Rep. Tim Scott: "My position is, that is an impeachable act."

Let's Put This Into Perspective
Mark Levin on Obama's press conference.
"Look at General Electric, Obama's favorite company, a multi national, international corporation, makes tens of billions of dollars. Obama has this guy Jeffrey Immelt under his wing, puts him in charge of his Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, remember that one? And GE doesn't pay one damn penny in taxes. And not one reporter asked about it, instead "it's the oil companies. Gotta get the oil companies!""

What He Said....

The charge: The Tucson massacre is a consequence of the "climate of hate" created by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Glenn Beck, Obamacare opponents and sundry other liberal betes noires. And so it goes...
The verdict: Rarely in American political discourse has there been a charge so reckless, so scurrilous and so unsupported by evidence.
...When profiles of Obama's first chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, noted that he once sent a dead fish to a pollster who displeased him, a characteristically subtle statement carrying more than a whiff of malice and murder, it was considered a charming example of excessive - and creative - political enthusiasm. When Senate candidate Joe Manchin dispensed with metaphor and simply fired a bullet through the cap-and-trade bill - while intoning, "I'll take dead aim at [it]" - he was hardly assailed with complaints about violations of civil discourse or invitations to murder.
Did Manchin push Loughner over the top? Did Emanuel's little Mafia imitation create a climate for political violence? The very questions are absurd - unless you're the New York Times and you substitute the name Sarah Palin.
The origins of Loughner's delusions are clear: mental illness. What are the origins of Krugman's?

Obama Calls African-Americans "Mongrel People"
The president appeared on ABC’s morning talk show “The View” Thursday, where he talked about the forced resignation of Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod, his experience with race and his roots.
When asked about his background, which includes a black father and white mother, Obama said of African-Americans: "We are sort of a mongrel people."
Tye Harrington and Kommunication have some thoughts on Obama's comment.

Aww...

to appearon a daytime talk show. This is perhaps less exciting than it might have been were Obama not such a ubiquitous presence in the media. However considering it comes on the heels of the Shirley Sherrod debacle (perhaps, intentionally so) Obama’s appearance on The View will likely provide at least some good soundbites.@ MediaiteTomorrowToday President Obama will make history by becoming the first sitting president
I wonder what would happen if he were to appear on Jerry Springer..?
