Americans -- remember them? -- should be asking themselves what it means that a woman of traditional American values can be so reviled, so relentlessly, so unscrupulously, so take-no-prisoners viciously. She doesn't need to become president to perform an invaluable role. Why is she so popular in the heartland? Because she is us. A good-hearted ambitious American doing her best to offer her best. If they -- and who are they, exactly? -- hate her so much, then it has to be the case that she's only a symbol of the hatred they feel for all the rest of us. If ordinary average Americans ever figure this part of the equation out, the 'liberals' are done forever. I'm thinking Sarah Palin is making that outcome more likely.

I dunno, kiddo. I don't have the time/energy to research, but I'd have to question the "traditional American values" thing.
Because what sticks in my craw, over and over and over, is, while she's out showing her ass all over America, on every talk show that she can, running hither and yon, putting in 20 hour days of publicity.......
where is her special needs child? where are her "typical" children? and where is her daughter and grandchild...a teen mom who definitely needs her mother.
My own mother says, she's sure Sarah is taking care of them, she's got it covered....but I see no evidence. Not that I want them to broadcast it all over, I respect her for not using the kids as pub-stunts, which would be so easy.......
But I don't know. No matter how good, a babysitter isn't the same as Mom. And Dad still has a job, right? So it's not him....even if a man could do it as well as his wife...which is rare.
Just not sure, but ol' Sarah just...doesn't sit well with me.

Thank you for reading D. I don't know who watches the kids while she's on her book tour. I do know that she has her special son, Trig with her on her tour and a strong family (mother/father) support. I do believe that Sarah Palin has strong American conservative values, but maybe it could be considered in a more "modern" way. Meaning, many women today have careers. Some are CEO's, Law Partner's, even astranauts. That doesn't mean they don't follow traditional values. I do believe that Palin is raising her children with good values. We know how hard it is raising our children in the world we live today with whats on tv and the internet. Not to mention their peers and the schools they attend. I could never judge what happened to her daughter. I think I've raised my daughter with good values. But what if she had made that mistake? It only takes one time. That doesn't mean I may have been a neglectful mother. I think Sarah Palin is gettting ripped apart and shredded in a shredder by the media, in a vulgar way. Yet, she has more experience in her little finger than our president could ever have.
