I don't have a Downs child. But I do know what it feels like to be the parent of a disabled child. As that parent I had the guilt of "what did I do wrong to cause this?" When I realized it wasn't my fault, then I was faced with the
other question. "What will my baby be capable of doing?" With each of her impairments, I cautiously crossed that road ready to dive into it head first but not realizing what a fight it would be with beauracracy for her rights as a human being with disabilities.
Being a parent of a special needs child is just that...special. We live in a world that no one can ever imagine.
Sarah Palin's story is definitely my our story.

Tears in my eyes ...
Thank you M. It is emotional, isn't it? Chokes me up too.

So true. And yes very emotional.
Thank you Casdok. Good to 'see' you again! Funny, the people who cross our paths who become meaningful...through the internet of all places. It still amazes me! Hope all is well with you.
