Ever-popular China blog, Shanghaiist, pointed us toward this disturbing video of what appears to be a young girl around the age of 4 or 5 casually driving a small sedan down the streets of a Chinese city.

Even more surprising though is the fact that she is apparently accompanied by two adults – presumably her parents – who encourage her as she navigates early morning traffic (the clock at one point shows 7:00 a.m.).

It started out as a typical evening for 22-year-old Brooke Collins. She let her dogs out as usual but this time, she said there was a black bear outside who took hold of her dachshund Fudge.

She said she feared for her pet's life and, in an instant, ran over and punched the bear right in the face to make it let go.

"It was all so fast. All I could think about was my dog was going to die," said Collins.

"It was a stupid thing but I couldn't help it," she said. "I know you're not supposed to do that but I didn't want my dog to be killed."

You go girl.

NASCAR Drivers Blow Off White House

President Barack Obama will honor NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson and the 11 other Chase drivers from last year in a White House ceremony on Wednesday – but nearly half of the 2010 playoff contenders won't be there.

NASCAR said Thursday that five drivers – Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart – will not be attending the White House visit due to "schedule conflicts."

They must be very busy people. Regardless of one's political views, the president is still the president – and an opportunity to speak with the leader of the free world is a rare and special one.

Disturbing new YouTube videos have surfaced allegedly showing notorious New Black Panther Party member King Samir Shabazz teaching “black survival” training to a small audience — with children sitting in the front row.

In each of the three videos, uploaded June 6, 2011, the man identified as Shabazz graphically demonstrates self-defense tactics using a variety of weapons, including a handgun, a machete and a baseball bat:

...In the next demonstration, the would-be attacker charges Shabazz, who stops him by extending his foot into the attacker’s groin area while simultaneously pulls a gun and points it in his face.

Shabazz next holds the assistant by the throat and demonstrates how to choke off an assailant’s air supply.

“You’re cutting that wind off completely. Backing him up and put two in him,” Shabazz says, putting the gun in the assistant’s abdomen.

The next set of scenarios deal with how to use a machete to defend against a baseball bat-wielding attacker. Shabazz and his assistant mime a bat and machete fight, and Shabazz locks his assistant in position.

“Now, I can either go for his fingers and cut his fingers straight off or I can go straight for his wrist,” he says.

Following through with the knife’s momentum in slow motion, Shabazz demonstrates how he can cut right through his attacker, then holds his head from behind, exposing his neck, and mimes decapitating him.

It’s also worth noting that in a separate video posted in May (where it’s unknown if kids were present), one month before the survival training, Shabazz addressed a group with a speech called “Exhuming of a Nation.” Among other statements, he declared, “F*** whitey‘s Mother’s Day.”

“I see black folks in here. I see no crackers in here today,” Shabazz said. “How do you feel?”

“Black power!” the audience answered.

“You love being black?”

“Yes!”

“Do you love being black?”

Yes!”

Will you die being black?”

“Yes!”

“Will you kill to be black?”

“Yes! Black power!”

“Are you ready for black?”

“Black power!”

The August jobs report is out and it was even worse than last month. The Labor Department said the US economy did not add ANY jobs last month (and the previous two months were revised lower by 58,000), the unemployment rate remained at 9.1 percent and 14 million Americans are still out of work (23 million if you include part-timers who want to be full-time).

That this report comes just before Labor Day weekend is a cruel coincidence. That the report comes days before President Obama delivers a “major” speech about jobs underscores a basic fact: Obama blew it on jobs.


. Jobs Created: NONE (Revisions: -58K, July revised to + 85 from +117,000, June revised to +20K from +46,000)

. Unemployment Rate: 9.1 percent (unchanged from July)

. Under-Employment Rate (marginally-attached, part-time): 16.2 percent (from 16.1 percent in July)

. Total Number of Unemployed: 14 million (from 13.9 million)...
