Obama Quietly Proclaims June 'Gay Pride Month'
Hey, whatever gets you through the night, Barry.Seeking to boost himself with the Democrats gay voting base, President Barack Obama is proclaiming June to be "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month."There's more...
"I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans," Obama says in the proclamation.
"As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected," he adds, calling on Congress and the American people to "work together to promote equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.”
How Do You Control The Weather?
Welcome to the third annual International Conference on Climate Change, a daylong session of speeches and scientific presentations that took place Tuesday just blocks from the U.S. Capitol. Almost no media covered the event.
Organized by The Heartland Institute and other conservative think tanks and groups, the conference drew about 250 guests, most of them researchers and policy analysts, some from as far away as Japan and Australia.
..."We are seldom heard in the policy debate," said Joseph L. Bast, president of The Heartland Institute. "If you open your newspaper, turn on your TV set, you're likely to see global warming alarmism, and nothing else."
It's ashame the media and government will refuse to debate the matter at hand.
Instead, attendees argued, the slow and slight increase in air, water and atmospheric temperatures during much of the 20th century is part of a natural cycle of the Earth's unpredictable, roller-coaster weather patterns.
Carbon dioxide, they debated, is not a pollutant that should be regulated, as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Supreme Court now hold; it is an attribute that helps plant and sea life.
..."How do you control the weather?" asked Bob Carter, an Australian scholar from James Cook University. "For us to assume we can somehow control nature and regulate weather patterns, when we cannot even predict them correctly, is patently absurd."

Celebrity WTF

Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on The Tonight Show last night, which isn’t the only reason I didn’t watch it but ranks pretty high on the list. At any rate, it’s impressive that Gwyneth was able to squeeze an interview with Conan into her busy schedule, because judging from the way she was greased up she planned to swim the English Channel the moment they finished taping. You can watch a video of the interview here, if you insist. But keep in mind: This is Gwyneth Paltrow, yammering for six solid minutes about whatever passes through her empty little head. Probably best to watch with the sound off, and spend the time speculating about how an alleged vegan like Gwyneth could achieve that look without using an entire pound of raw bacon.

Video: Iraq Father Surprises Daughter
This is definitely a Kleenex moment.

Auschwitz
"We're here to mark that day in history when the Allied armies joined in battle to reclaim this continent to liberty. For 4 long years, much of Europe had been under a terrible shadow. Free nations had fallen, Jews cried out in the camps, millions cried out for liberation. Europe was enslaved, and the world prayed for its rescue. Here in Normandy the rescue began. Here the Allies stood and fought against tyranny in a giant undertaking unparalleled in human history." - President Ronald Reagan
Keeping It Real
Charles Krauthammer writes:In his much-heralded "Muslim world" address in Cairo yesterday, Obama declared that the Palestinian people's "situation" is "intolerable." Indeed it is, the result of 60 years of Palestinian leadership that gave its people corruption, tyranny, religious intolerance and forced militarization; leadership that for three generations rejected every offer of independence and dignity, choosing destitution and despair rather than accept any settlement not accompanied by the extinction of Israel.
That's why Haj Amin al-Husseini chose war rather than a two-state solution in 1947. Why Yasser Arafat turned down a Palestinian state in 2000. And why Abbas rejected Olmert's even more generous December 2008 offer.
In the 16 years since the Oslo accords turned the West Bank and Gaza over to the Palestinians, their leaders built no roads, no courthouses, no hospitals, none of the fundamental state institutions that would relieve their people's suffering. Instead they poured everything into an infrastructure of war and terror, all the while depositing billions (from gullible Western donors) into their Swiss bank accounts.
Obama says he came to Cairo to tell the truth. But he uttered not a word of that. Instead, among all the bromides and lofty sentiments, he issued but one concrete declaration of new American policy: "The United States does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements," thus reinforcing the myth that Palestinian misery and statelessness are the fault of Israel and the settlements.
Blaming Israel and picking a fight over "natural growth" may curry favor with the Muslim "street." But it will only induce the Arab states to do like Abbas: sit and wait for America to deliver Israel on a platter. Which makes the Obama strategy not just dishonorable but self-defeating.

65th Anniversary Remembering The Men of D-Day

These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc. These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champions who helped free a continent. These are the heroes who helped end a war.
....Forty summers have passed since the battle that you fought here. You were young the day you took these cliffs; some of you were hardly more than boys, with the deepest joys of life before you. Yet, you risked everything here. Why? Why did you do it? What impelled you to put aside the instinct for self-preservation and risk your lives to take these cliffs? What inspired all the men of the armies that met here? We look at you, and somehow we know the answer. It was faith and belief; it was loyalty and love.
The men of Normandy had faith that what they were doing was right, faith that they fought for all humanity, faith that a just God would grant them mercy on this beachhead or on the next. It was the deep knowledge -- and pray God we have not lost it -- that there is a profound, moral difference between the use of force for liberation and the use of force for conquest. You were here to liberate, not to conquer, and so you and those others did not doubt your cause. And you were right not to doubt.
You all knew that some things are worth dying for. One's country is worth dying for, and democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man. All of you loved liberty. All of you were willing to fight tyranny, and you knew the people of your countries were behind you.
A heartfelt thank you to those who fought for freedom and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on the Beaches of Normandy in World War II. You will never be forgotten.

Humpday Afternoon Tea Time
Enjoy your Tea....
Justice Clarence Thomas: Integrity
Via Allahpundit at HotAir. It's like he says, it's truly a feel good story to start your day.High school seniors Terrence Stephens and Jason Ankrah, star football players at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Md., were sitting on a plane returning from a recruitment session at the University of Nebraska when they struck up a conversation with the man sitting next to them.
Their seat-mate just happened to be a major Cornhuskers fan.
When they started chatting, Stephens and Ankrah didn't have a clue they were holding court with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
It's quite long. But if you have the time to watch a 60 Minute interview by Steve Croft, it's well worth it. Justice Clarence Thomas is indeed a man of principle. A man of virtue.

Meet Brian Deese
Via Glenn Beck at FoxNewsHere's the one thing and there's absolutely nothing funny about it: the wunderkind in charge of saving our auto industry is a 31-year-old with about as much experience as a summer intern.
Despite having no formal business education, no business experience and no auto industry experience, 31-year-old Brian Deese is now in charge of dismantling General Motors.
So what does this guy's resume look like? It should be impressive, considering he's managing America's $458,000 per day involuntary investment.
.......What should be more than a little scary for GM, much less the American people, is that however smart Deese may be, he has literally no private sector experience; he is not formally trained in economics or business; and, according to The Times, he "never spent much time flipping through the endless studies about the nature of the American and Japanese auto industries."

Muslim Convert Kills One Soldier Injures Another Outside Recruitment Center
Uncle Jimbo at BlackfiveAt KATV NewsThis is bad. The shooter in the Arkansas recruit shooting is reported to be a Muslim convert. This echoes several other plots where Muslim converts in the US have decided to prove their loyalty to Allah by trying to take out US troops.
The media and the left were quick to minimize previous cases of US Muslim converts believing they should prove their loyalty by attempting jihadist terror acts. This bastard killed a US soldier and wounded another. As I mentioned this is not the first case and I am not even vaguely interested in the disaffected loser scenarios put forth. It is extremely easy to commit a terrorist act and the relative IQ or sophistication of the bad actor is hardly relevant. It is the belief that your God wants you to kill someone and the decision to act on that. The guy who killed the abortion doctor is the same type of loser.
If you think you need to take action against US troops because they are killing your Muslim brothers, then take your ass to Afghanistan and give it your best shot. A drive by in Little Rock makes you a gutless punk. Hopefully this guy will get his chance to collect his 72 goats via the Arkansas death penalty.
Authorities have identified the soldier killed in Monday's double-shooting outside a U.S Army recruitment office in west Little Rock.
According to Pulaski County Coroner Garland Camper, 23-year-old William Long of Conway died shortly after being transported to a Little Rock hospital.
Police say the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. at a U.S. Army Navy Career Center inside the Ashley Square Shopping Center at 9112 North Rodney Parham Road. According to Lt. Terry Hastings with the Little Rock Police Department, two enlisted soldiers standing outside the office were hit when a suspect drove up in a black SUV and began shooting.

Obama & The MSM At It's Finest
Via Amy Ridenour at Newsbusters:At the time of this writing, there are nearly 7,000 references to "George Tiller" in Google News. And Sublog in the Greenroom:
There are under 500 for "William Long."
George Tiller, of course, was the Kansas abortion doctor murdered Sunday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.
William Long was the 23-year-old military recruiter murdered Monday morning by a man who allegedly had political and religious motives.
Are there 14 times more stories about George Tiller in Google News right now because Tiller's murder occurred approximately 24 hours before Long's?
Will there be approximately 7,000 references to William Long in Google News 24 hours from now?
I'm not holding my breath.
When Dr. Tiller was murdered, the White House released a statement on Sunday afternoon. As of 11:15 a.m. EST, the Commander in Chief has yet to release a statement condemning the murder of a member of the armed forces by a suspected terrorist.

General Motors Corp. became the second-largest industrial bankruptcy in history Monday as it filed its landmark case, with President Barack Obama predicting the humbled corporate titan will emerge from Chapter 11 "a stronger and more competitive" company within months.Read it...
GM's bankruptcy caps a frenetic few months in which the Obama administration scrambled to salvage GM as well as Chrysler LLC, the country's first- and third-largest car makers, at a cost to taxpayers of more than $62 billion.
GM officials portrayed the bankruptcy -- No. 2 in asset size among industrial concerns to WorldCom's filing in 2002 -- as an unprecedented opportunity to reverse decades of decline. GM said it would close 17 factories and parts centers and lop off 20,000 more jobs by the end of 2011 in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and other states.
The government-orchestrated shrinkage will cost taxpayers $30 billion, on top of $20 billion in U.S. funds already put into the company. In exchange, the U.S. will own 60% of the new GM. In all, the rescue of the car industry could cost taxpayers close to $100 billion.
